Fabric-reinforced PU cleats, for demanding applications

Bandtransport Europe (BTE) offers innovative solutions, which keep up with the latest developments in your market. With its latest product, the fabric-reinforced PU cleat, BTE once again takes that one extra step.

Increasing demand, more efficient production

As a result of more and more efficient production and recycling methods, the worldwide food production capacity keeps going up. This is a way for manufacturers to meet growing demand caused by the increasing world population and ever rising prosperity. In the production and recycling process, conveyor belts are used more and more intensively and are exposed to ever increasing loads. In such processes, the fabric-reinforced cleat is essential.

Fabric-reinforced cleats made of specially developed PU

BTE found out that commonly used fabric-reinforced PVC and full-plastic PU cleats are not always effective. In particular the most modern production and recycling processes often quickly demand too much from the standard cleats, causing a need for more frequent replacement and less than optimal use of production capacities of the utilized installations. BTE has now developed the new fabric-reinforced PU cleat for precisely these demanding processes.

Greater capacity, longer service life

BTE expects that these fabric-reinforced PU cleats will play an important part in processes, in which high efficiency and large capacity are of great importance. This exceedingly strong cleat, manufactured of hard, high-quality PU on a monofilament polyester fabric, facilitates an increased production capacity due to its high lifting capacity. Due to the use of high-quality materials, this cleat has a long service life and is suitable for use in food production in compliance with FDA and EU directives.

The advantages of BTE's fabric-reinforced PU cleats

  • Wear-resistance: These cleats are made of PU with a hardness of 92° Shore A. This hard material makes them much more resistant against wear than fabric-reinforced PVC cleats.
  • Higher lifting capacity: Due to the reinforcement with a special monofilament fabric, these cleats have a much higher lifting capacity than their full-PU counterparts.
  • Low temperatures: PU is resistant against extremely low temperatures. While PVC is generally resistant against temperatures as low as -10 °C, BTE’s PU cleats can withstand an icy -30 °C.
  • Longer service-life: The fabric integrated in the cleat makes it stronger than full-plastic PU cleats. It has a longer service life, even under extreme conditions.
  • Foodgrade: The specially developed fabric-reinforced PU meets the requirements set in regard to contact with food in compliance with the FDA and EU directives. Where PVC fabric-reinforced cleats often do not meet these requirements and full-PU cleats are in some cases not strong enough, the fabric-reinforced PU cleat surpasses its predecessors.
  • Quick, good, competitively priced: Due to mechanisation of the production process, BTE is able to produce large series of fabric-reinforced cleats within a short timespan. In combination with a sophisticated choice of materials, BTE offers competitively priced products and an always high, consistent quality.
